Due to the pandemic my car is hardly used so my battery died when I left it for more than a week. I decided to try this. It was mostly good, but not without problems. When I originally installed it I did it via the cigarette lighter as that seemed like the easiest way although the instructions mention that this doesn't work on some cars. It worked fine for about two weeks and I saw a flashing red light when plugged in. A few weeks later I went to my car and it was dead. The panel was blinking green instead of red meaning it was exposed to sunlight but the battery wasn't charging. I jumped out of the car and switched to alligator clips. With the crocodile clips everything worked again. Luckily my car is very odd and the battery is under the passenger seat so it's not too cumbersome to connect it this way, although I preferred the cigarette lighter method. I don't really know why it worked at first and then stopped working. Therefore, I would now recommend this article with caution. Since I switched to clamps my car has been fine and since this method is guaranteed to work I will use it. If you buy this device and plan to use a cigarette lighter adapter, you may be disappointed. One final note: the first one I received came with a cracked panel. I didn't take this into account in my review as it could be a shipping error but to be honest I think it's more of a packaging issue. The box is just too small to hold both the panel and attached accessories (cables, suction cups) so the accessories sit on top of the solar panel with no absolute space or padding. Any stacking of crates in a warehouse can cause the panel to break as a result. The box should be designed so that the accessory is placed next to the plate, not on top of it.
