Works to load our Great Danes into the SUV

We purchased two of these platforms to help our Great Danes get in and out of our SUVs. We have a compact SUV and a mid-size with a load floor height of about 30-32 inches. We tried several other types of gadgets, including ramps and folding pet loader steps. Nothing matched our male Great Danes, one weighing about 135 pounds and the other about 155 pounds. We considered just getting one of the platforms, but we saw that our dog's natural instinct was to go around or to the side of the other equipment we used. tries to. They just didn't trust the narrow steps and steep ramps. With two platforms connected together they span the entire rear of the car and our dogs then used the platform as a step. At first we found the platforms to be just right for our dogs weight. I don't think the platforms will collapse under much weight, but if a 155 lb dog steps onto the platform he will have some boost. That means the platform can't support the weight of a 155-pound dog. So I would say the platform is suitable for a 155 pound Great Dane, but I would not recommend using it for a larger dog, say a 200 pound Great Dane. The platforms have some sort of coating to make them less slippery underfoot, but they are still a bit slippery and our dog slipped a foot when using the platform for the first time. After that, our two dogs had no more misfortune. We'll probably try sticking on the non-slip strips that are sold for the bottom of the tub to make the platforms less slippery. In general, platforms have solved a big problem for us. It was becoming increasingly difficult to get our dogs to the vet clinic or dog park without a curb or step to get in and out of.
