Does not work well with a reel powered circular saw. They need to be told what kind of circular saw it will work with. First attempt after assembling the rail, follow the instructions as best as possible. I've attached my saw to a carriage that seems to hold it, and the two small latches that screw into this plastic tighten without breaking. About halfway through the first cut, the saw began to slide off the carriage and cut deeper into the sacrificial strip. I noticed it before it hit the aluminum. I tried to find a way to make it hold up better and ended up building a skid spacer to replace the inadequate one that came with it. So that led to a botched victim stripping. Once that's messed up you can't make a straight cut because you need to line up the straight edge with the mark so you know where to start the cut and where to end it. I don't get more bands though. The tear protection only works on one side and only if the strip has been cut with a saw.
