Worked great to connect an external boot drive to my MacBook Pro

. The drive boots fine when connected to a USB-C mini-dock with the included traditional USB 3.0 cable, but I've had no success with a competing USB-C to microUSB 3 cable (brand Cable Creations). No problem running from my external drive connected directly to one of the USB-C ports with this cable. highlighted.
