Doesn't appear to be hot swappable. Check the BIOS and other settings to ensure the SATA ports are set to Hot Swap and set up perfectly. This works for a Dell Inspiron 3650 desktop, but only works if I insert a disc BEFORE booting. If I remove the disc while the computer is on, this unit stops working.
