Great for a laptop used as a desktop.

Can't comment on the durability of this product yet, but it works quite well. I've been using my laptop primarily as a desktop for a while (so I don't use it on my lap) and I've had to throttle it to keep the fan from going into jet mode. With this thing I turned off the throttling. This keeps the idle temperature about 8 degrees cooler and makes it harder for the CPU to get hot enough to fully overclock the fan. It just seems to make the internal cooling more efficient. Cons: 1. The temp gauge is a joke, so this thing never accelerates on its own. I left it on "Auto" which seems to make it run at its lowest speed (which is good enough for me). Temperature readings may work better on laptops with an aluminum chassis. But for me it just reads 24c.2 all the time. Vibration is more than desirable, but it's on par with desktop fans. I wouldn't worry about spinning hard drives. But if you've actually been using your laptop's keyboard, it can be annoying. There is no real manual. One can only guess how to deal with it.
