I HATE PAYING MONTHLY FEES. That's a saying in life. With that in mind, I bought a standalone dashcam from Walmart, branded ILO. This is a decent dashcam, but it had some technical issues that caused them to stop manufacturing and selling it. I think the big players, DirectV, TIVO etc killed everyone who tried to put a replacement on the market. (A Detroit take on electric cars.) I tried a previous Magnavox about 2 years ago and it was really unreliable. Many have complained about this. This 537 is very good. Occasionally it has a small problem that when I press a channel up/down it changes the channel but does NOT change the signal received. The display on the screen thus remains the same. Pressing channel up/down again will switch to the next channel and everything is fine. Returning to the wrong channel shows that everything is fine now. (Let me be more specific. Let's say I have channels 4, 5 and 6. I look at 4 on The Daily Show and press UP <rarely> it shows I'm on channel 5 but it still shows John Stuart. Press UP again and I'm at 6 watching Bill O'Reilly. Press DOWN and I'm at 5 again watching Scooby Doo. It's not annoying enough to bring it back to the Breeze, I like it.
