My original key fob stopped working. I thought it was just broken. Made the mistake of buying a new $230 key fob from the dealer without programming it. I bought this case on a whim to see if my original case was the problem. And that's exactly what it was. This is just an outer case and blank key, it has NO internal chip and battery. But now I have 2 working keychains.
