I don't need the key blanks supplied and wanted to move my factory keys to the back of these cases. They don't fit right. I can put them in, but you'll have to use pliers to get the factory keys out. design flaw.

Bought to replace an original which has lasted several years. That's about a year old. Both have the same problem - the metal disc detaches itself from the rubber "button" and no longer works. I taped it back several times but it falls off again. The plastic case is okay, only the rubber inlay fails.

My original key fob stopped working. I thought it was just broken. Made the mistake of buying a new $230 key fob from the dealer without programming it. I bought this case on a whim to see if my original case was the problem. And that's exactly what it was. This is just an outer case and blank key, it has NO internal chip and battery. But now I have 2 working keychains.

I do not recommend buying. This is my second bought from the same retailer. First it cracked and fell apart. It's not very worrying. For such a cheap price I didn't expect it to last long. I ordered another one and they are too short to fire the ignition module on a 2013 Ram 1500. The truck does not recognize the key. Picked up the old key fob and the car started right away. Make sure you check before throwing away the old case.

I ordered two of these and had them programmed at the Ram dealer for $75. (NOTE: When programming, the dealer's service department charges one or more chargers). They work great but the downside is that the locking mechanism that holds the physical key is very weak or broken and failed after only three or four months. I pulled the keys out of my pocket and the rest of the keys on the keychain flew all over the truck. This key has now only been removed for emergencies and will remain at home.

I NEVER write reviews but this is perfect. We have a Ram 1500 (2015) but the key was broken, we opened it and found the board and battery are ok so we got this, just put the battery and board in and it worked! It's very simple and honestly, saved us over $300! There was also a note that the key is not cut inside and your real key may not fit, but ours fits perfectly! Honestly, this is the easiest and cheapest way to fix your key. Worth a try before going to the dealer.

Arrived quickly. My original key fobs became too sensitive and would open and/or close doors at the slightest touch, intentional or not. I often found my truck doors unlocked in the morning hours, even though I knew I had locked them on purpose the night before. Simply touching the sensor area can inadvertently affect the door lock.
