📀 Samsung DVD-V8500 DVD VCR Combo Player Review

I love my VCR/DVD combo. I have a lot of old VCRs that I enjoy looking at and now I have a lot of recently bought DVDs. The VCR/DVD combo makes it easy to watch all my movies. Its properties are excellent. I highly recommend it.

The videotape works great but the DVD player only plays about 50% of our DVDs and even then it just doesn't seem to work. We get this endless "loading" signal on the screen, but often it never loads. We are so disappointed because we really wanted a combo machine that can play both since we have both.

Best of all, you can pop in a memory card and watch all those digital pictures! I've shopped at Consumer Reports, Revain, Epinions.com, etc. for a long time. Like many others, we have many old VCRs or camcorder tapes that need VC player. Setup is easy, with batteries for the remote control and color-coded cables included. You might want to pick up an S-cable. Codes are included to make this remote work on your TV. In our setup we have cable TV, DVD recorder and now this beauty!

The additional memory card reader is good but too slow to be very useful. Reading a 3.1 megabit image takes a full 5 seconds, so slideshows are a bit slow. DVD works fine, VHS too. Been using it for 3 months, no problems so far. The only stumbling block is that the pause on VHS stutters slightly on tapes recorded on it, but is half distorted on tapes from another (cheaper) player. I thought my device was broken when I first plugged it in because when I switched to the VCR it was still showing the "welcome blue screen" for DVD. I heard someone had the same experience with S-Video so I tried Composite Video (yellow RCA) - same story.
