Update 11/18 Tonight I decided to clean the glass with the help of Dawn and a sponge. This is only the 3rd time I've washed it because I've only boiled water before. So imagine my horror when I poured half in, started to boil and water poured. YES IT POURS out somewhere under the bottom of the handle. I'm still not sure what happened as I couldn't find any cracks or chips after inspecting the pan after it cooled, so here's my guess. I think the bottom should be attached glass to metal with that smelly glue I mentioned in my original review. .and I think ten coats of glue should be enough in the wash to open up the space. and when it was heated, he opened a hole large enough for the water to flow out! I AM SO DISAPPOINTED! BEWARE, BOILING WATER POOLING DIRECTLY NEAR THE OUTLET WAS A DISASTER! OK I gave 5 stars but there is one downside. ProsHeat is very fast! My auto shut off works great! Very pretty, especially when the light is on. The raspberry color is great! The ConGlass pot doesn't dry out unless I leave the lid open for a while. Otherwise, moisture will remain. - There is a slight plastic smell but it goes away after a while (mostly) - My biggest problem is the gap between the glass cylinder and the heating pad. It doesn't need to be fully sealed as there will be a slight discoloration as if the metal is burning a bit. Maybe some sealant holding them together? (This can also be the cause of the plastic smell) It looks ugly and started the first time I used it. But he doesn't touch the water, so I can handle that.
