Review on Marble Powder Lord Ganesh Ganpati Elephant Hindu God Statue: The Blessing, Colored & Enhanced With Gold, Handcrafted In India By Lightahead by Robert Grind

Not sure the reason for all the positive reviews

Well, I don't want to sound like a jerk. We are talking about a fairly low cost statue and it is Ganesh. but what I received is not at all what I was expecting. From the picture and the "marble powder" description, I imagined this looking more like - well, marble. Smooth and glossy, slightly metallic for the gold paint. Instead, it's actually very resin. Now, don't get me wrong; I wasn't expecting marble for the price, but I was thinking it would look nicer than it does. The paint job is sloppy, with the nails painted like my 2 yr old did them, as do many of the other painted features. The trunk and hands are painted with red decoration instead of what is in the photo as well. Lots of differences that add up to something different than what I see online. As for the positives - it was very well packaged and arrived intact. And if you don't look too closely, it's just fine. I hate the hassle of returns, so I'll be keeping it, but it will live somewhere that all can observe from afar.
