Review on πŸ“Έ Smart Flash RF46C Macro Ring Flash for Canon DSLR Cameras by Phoenix by Dan Davis

Revainrating 5 out of 5

More than a toy. Best in Camera & Photo Category

Full Disclosure: I borrowed one of these for about two months before buying my own. I liked it so much I just had to have it. First point: unlike many other items in the $40-$100 range, this is NOT a ring light or adapter. This is real lightning. So it might be a bit harder to use. Other than that, I think Phoenix did a masterful job with this product. They really outperformed the cheaper models and delivered a solid performance. If you look, you'll see that there's almost nothing in the $100-$300 range. From this point on, the prices become more and more difficult to swallow. You get solid equipment that you can easily justify to your wife/husband/accountant. Second point: It's really a versatile flash, but you have to know how to operate the camera. It doesn't have any built-in controls, so you'll have to rely on the built-in flash settings. Once you do this you will be in business. Some people may complain about aim blowing, but that's more of a user feature than a flash. One last thing: this is a truly portable item. The head folds up like a standard flash and fits in both my small and large bag. It's easy to throw in a bag/suitcase and get started. This is a must for me.
