Review on Electric Dog Fence Combo - 2 Dog System / 1000' of 14 Gauge Underground Wire for upto 1 Acre - Dual Containment and Training Solution with Single Collar by Theresa White

Revainrating 5 out of 5

It is very nice to have a remote control and a fence

we installed such a fence before - it was no easier and no more difficult to do. The collar is not heavy, but very wide. We have a Wheaten (a 40 lb dog) and it works well, but we wouldn't want a smaller dog with this collar. Both the collar and the remote control can be charged at the same time. We use the remote control to control people jumping and teasing little kids. I taught her how to use an electric fence like other fences: wave flags, say "go home" and pull her up to the house. Never let them think they can run away. My biggest complaint is that the first warning is a "beep" and it's just a beep. The remote beeps many times but not the collar. I have a feeling that with a collar she will get electrocuted sooner than necessary because she is very obedient just hearing the beep. In fact, all I can say is "beep beep" (mimicking the remote control) and it obeys. When the company comes, she has full access to the yard, but the remote control is close by so she doesn't jump and get annoying.

Pros
  • a practical thing
Cons
  • there are nuances
