I bought 2 of these 8 GB RAM modules because my 2009 Mac Pro (octa-core, 2.26 x 2) would no longer boot. I've replaced the power supply and back panel - to no avail. I came across a post on a random forum that said I need at least 6GB of RAM for a Mac Pro. My computer had exactly that and one of the RAM modules failed. no longer loaded. I installed one of the modules in slot 1 and the other in slot 5 and after a few power cycles it booted up and has been working fine ever since.
