Advantages: Very light and easy to use. Can be easily charged from a nearby USB port. The light it produces is quite powerful considering the size of this lantern. The part designed to repel mosquitoes works. The purple light it gives off looks really pretty. Cons: Mosquitoes are not really attracted to light as one might think. Several times when my lantern hit them I had to push the light in their faces and try to lure them there. They still preferred to nibble on me outside rather than checking the lights. I assume this is better suited for indoor/tent use. If you want something indoors or in your tent with good lighting and SOME protection then generally use this. For outdoor use, I'd recommend one of those tennis racquets that kill bugs.
