this is a really high quality thermometer. It's definitely one that you want to have if you have kids. You need something accurate. You can use this to scan the forehead or to take a temperature in the ear for more accuracy. It's nice to have those options especially when your child is sleeping and you want to quickly take a temp. It has three different lights to indicate the temperature. Green to let you know that the temperature is not concerning, yellow to let you know to keep an eye on things and red to signal a fever. This is a well-known brand for a reason. Whenever I talk to someone about what type of thermometer they use a lot of people talk about this one. The pictures on it make it really easy to understand. The buttons are really easy to use. I like that it is convenient enough to take with me when I travel. I also have multiple so I can have one upstairs and one downstairs. The battery life is superb. I'm very surprised that how long the batteries last. I can't say enough good things about it.
