
When I realized I no longer had to stand by a hot stove to fry bacon for breakfast, I knew something important was waiting for me in my life. My husband loves bacon for breakfast and BLT sandwiches. I hated frying bacon. Now that I've bought a broiler I will never fry bacon again. now i'm baking! A whole pound of bacon back then. The roaster holds 4-5 pieces of bacon. Place in a preheated 425 degree oven for about 10-12 minutes, then transfer to a paper towel lined plate and add 4-5 more bacon slices until wrap is cooked through. When I'm done baking, I leave the bacon on paper towels and carefully transfer it to a plastic bag and store it in the meat drawer in my fridge. When I need 2 or 3 slices of bacon I take them out, place them on a clean paper towel and cover with another paper towel, microwave and finish cooking (depending on how well the bacon is cooked). To clean the pan and grate, I simply drain the bacon grease and then soak in hot, soapy water for about 15 minutes. The brush is easy to clean from the rust, and the pan is cleaned with a clean washcloth. I love this pan!
