Great price for a beautiful LED strip

I'm a Phillips Hue fan and took a very close look at the glowing strip. The price seemed a bit high to me and I don't see us changing colors that often. Seasonal items only. So we decided to try this first. Full disclosure, I haven't tried connecting it to wifi. I found the remote control to be perfect for our purpose. Packaging: It was packaged nicely and the LEDs were on a plastic spool. Made the installation a little easier. LEDs: nice and bright, the colors seem to be quite good. Maybe not as atmospheric as Philips, but the primary colors were there. He says to align the red arrow with anything. I thought I did and plugged it in and there is no light. So I flipped it and voila, it glows. Whatever I should have done, apparently I didn't, but this is an easy fix. Application: I sheathed the top of some cabinets. So I had to cut in two places and use a connector. I cut where indicated (which seems like a lot as they came out almost perfect). The plastic cap/silicone is not that difficult to remove. I simply cut it about 1/2 inch with a razor being careful not to damage the tape and peeled it off. The hardest part was the connectors (to be bought separately, so nothing against LEDs). One side of the LED strip is on top, but the other side (as I found out after I got everything connected) should go under the metal contacts. Once I figured that out, it was pretty easy. Anyhow, attached is the end result which was cut from both sides of the raised cabinet and attached to the top of this cabinet with an extension. All in all I lost about $30. The same app at Phillips Hue costs about $360 with Black Friday discounts. Not a bad deal.
