Review on Nokian Tires Hakkapeliitta 9 205/55 R16 94T winter by Micha Kochaski ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Fits the description completely, very satisfying.

I substituted it for Michelin X-Ice North 4, which I was unable to use for more than a season. What more can I say? The tires are wonderful in practically every way; they are softer and more comfortable than their predecessors (I can only compare with Hakka 7), but the most crucial improvement is that the sensitivity to rutting, which was really unpleasant at 7k, has vanished. swallows through joints and pits without loosing control. The spikes are loud, but they are not any louder than the X-Ice North 4, which is rated as the quietest. They are nearly as comfortable on asphalt, but they do not experience parasitic shift or shift in corners, and they have considerably more assured qualities in snow and ice. The grip on all sorts of surfaces is equally secure without distortions in any direction, as it should be with winter tires, and there is no impact of sliding on ice sprinkled with fresh snow like some tires have. Excellent directional stability; when one wheel slides, the automobile doesn't pull to the side. The craftsmanship is respectable, the balance was flawless, and the maximum weight was 10g, however there is still a flaw in that the rubber around the spike is already chipping at the break-in stage. All of the spikes currently have grooves of crumbled rubber surrounding them (on the same X-Ice North 4, for instance, the rubber around the spike was unaffected throughout the season).

Pros
  • smooth operation softer than their forerunners Spikes firmly rest. Handling snow, ice, and asphalt with low rut sensitivity Exchange rate stability Braking
Cons
  • At the break-in stage, the rubber covering the spike is already disintegrating.

I do not advise, it is very noisy and buzzing, there is no comfort in the cabin when driving
