Good Features: - Easy setup to print straight away - Comes with updated firmware and newer version of Cura - Printer noise is pretty moderate Closed doors Bad: - Print quality issues with factory settings that require some tweaking and fiddling (biggest issue I had was under-extrusion after retract, but d/t printer crashed. I had no way of seeing how good it would be), fixed by setting parameters ). - Bed alignment is far from perfect, resulting in problematic first coat and print warping (on large prints) right out of the box. I had adhesion issues initially, but I adjusted the Z offset and was able to get it close enough to work well. Even with the best z-height adjustment, the first layer still went from being too close and slightly distorted in one corner to barely close enough to stick to the opposite corner. The printer only does 3-point automatic leveling, which in theory should work fine on a glass bed as it needs to be very flat and even. However, the printer uses an inductive sensor, so something is wrong between the glass surface and what the inductive sensors are reading. A steel plate was glued to the back of the glass surface, but the glue was not perfect, and there was a corner with a small gap, although it was crooked in the same direction even after the glass surface was rotated. It also uses four magnets holding the glass/steel baseplate to the aluminum base, so the magnets may have been causing problems with the sensor. The plastic components allow some flexing of the x and y axis mechanics. I'm not sure how much this affected the print quality for me at lower speeds, but with more weight being shed from the extruder I'm sure it limits the potential for high speed/quality printing. - Almost started a fire when a (suspected thermistor) sensor failure caused a thermal runaway at the start of a print. The printer had just gone through the auto leveling sequence when smoke began to emanate from the hot end/extruder body. I looked at the display before turning off the printer and saw that the nozzle temperature was -14Β°C. Every time after that, the same problem occurs when printing, with the nozzle temperature dropping to -14 Β° C immediately. Overall: The main reason I bought this was so I could make several decent prints. for a school project without having to spend a lot of time modifying or tweaking, which I couldn't do with this printer. I returned the printer after the thermal runaway problem started, so I didn't have a chance to see if adjusting the settings resolved all of the issues. It's scary to think that if I had left the room instead of staying to see the first layer, I might have ended up on fire.
