We use them to fill the compost bin so we don't have to clean it as often. They are just the right size for a standard desktop canister. If you take a long time to fill the canister, you may find that the bag works *too* well and falls apart before you can move it. We fill ours up pretty quickly, so once it's full we take it to our large compost bin for collection each week by our waste disposal company (it's compost - hooray!). They don't seem to have a problem with us using these bags in compost material.
