Wireless shutter does not work with PC sync cords

I've been using it with my digital cameras since I bought it last year. It was basically great for that. This year I've added medium format film cameras to my photographic gear and unfortunately now have to invest more money in other gear as the wireless trigger doesn't use a standard PC sync cable connector. Why develop a wireless trigger with a connector smaller than the industrial one?
