Good. So I'll start with what you really want to know. Yes, the reviewer who said these tubes are the brightest for the 3 Cell D Maglite was right and honest. Yes, these bulbs are unusually bright compared to any incandescent bulb you may have used before, making them useful for the constantly tedious but necessary searching for things in the trunk, or under the seat, or under a sofa, or in a scary one and creepy and dimly lit garage, and most importantly to put the flashlight upright on the table where it can be left safely between books or stacks of papers so that a flashlight can and with this bulb it really will be able to illuminate a room when the utility company has not warned you of a planned power outage in the area. I purchased this bulb right after my flashlight stopped working during a 'planned' but undisclosed outage, and it came two days before they 'accidentally' blacked out the area at night for another four hours. This bulb lit up the whole living room and allowed me to work while I waited, and it burned for the full four hours without a break or flicker and stayed relatively cool. My old lightbulb was a replacement for an LED that was too warm, too dim and flickering. The CREE lamp really impressed me. I know I shouldn't get too excited about a flashlight bulb, but showering in the dark still scares me at my advanced age, and this bulb had no trouble even in the steam room. It's the same flashlight, no difference except the bulb, so a bulb is a good bulb. Good luck finding what works for you.
