Voltage limiting is important

I did a lot of research before buying a surge protector (or surge protector) and I have to say this is the best you can get for less than $60. how many joules can it draw or how much insurance will they cover if it doesn't work (which is bullshit because they almost always dispute people's claims), but I finally figured out something about something called voltage limiting. While joules are what a product can withstand before eventually failing, they don't tell you anything about the voltage that will pass, clamping voltage (the part that destroys your devices), etc. Clamping voltage is 150, which is anything over 150 means. Volts are suppressed. If you use 120 volt devices you wouldn't want them to get 200 300 400 volts would you? Don't buy Belkin crap because it won't protect your gear. Tripp Lite is used in production and industrial environments, their website has all the specifications for each product and is easy to find. My husband is an automation engineer and when I showed it to him I found out how bad Belkin and related brands were. even he was shocked (no pun intended). It's like these brands are just selling you useless, unprotected extension cords and betting your stuff won't fry. He thought the voltage clamping was better on these products, but when I showed him their specs he was amazed. We bought 2 of these and plan to buy more for the rest of the house.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Doubtful
