I bought this device in 2016. Have used it about 6 times successfully to test different batteries on my car. Has always worked well. It let me down this time. I tested my daughter's car for the cold winter months and tested the tester with a 640CCA battery. A week ago it showed 365 CCA so I charged the battery. It reached 465CCA. Starting problems etc. were not noticed. Just in case, I went to COSTCO and bought a new battery after asking them to test the old one. They were busy and didn't have time to look at it. Bought and brought home. Tested there. Guess what he tested on 465CCA. My neighbor had a new tester from Harbor Freight for $19.99. Both old and new Costco batteries have performed well. It was outside of the one year warranty. Repairs are not possible or refurbished devices are sold by them. Went to Harbor Freight and bought a Cen-Tech unit which they sell for $19.99 with a 20% coupon. Works perfectly and if it only lasts three years at this price, I'll be satisfied. But I suspect it will last a long time. As such, I wouldn't recommend buying this device unless you're willing to pay a lot for something that could die in three years or less without a backup plan. Your choice.
