I ordered this 1996 Gold Dollar expecting to get the 1996 Gold Dollar and that's exactly what I got. A blade that can be made to work very well with a little oil on the elbow. After unboxing I wiped off the silicone grease that was heavily coating it and proceeded to bevel the diamond plate to 1000 grit. I then sanded it down to 8000 grit and an end stone. It took less than 10 minutes and after shaving I had a good shave. In general I am satisfied. You can do it all with lapping tape, which is cheaper, but I love my stones. There are many videos that will teach you how.
