I was hoping these brackets would provide more structural support. They likely provide some structural support, but are primarily a decorative addition. The included screws are very small, you can buy and use longer screws for more stability. Just understand that when you buy something you are buying to improve the appearance of your pergola, not to increase its structural stability.
