Firstly, be careful when dumping out old coffee grounds. The glass carafe (part of the glass) comes out of the metal stand and when I was about to dispose of the old base the carafe fell out and broke (user error. There is no flaw in the design of this thing). I spoke to Kitchen Supreme customer service about this and they were SUPER cool and helpful. Second: BUY THIS FRENCH PRESS. I've had three other brands of French Press and this is the best (and cheapest). It's made of metal and glass, not plastic. Filters out coffee grounds well so they don't get into your coffee (I had this problem with another brand of French Press). Because the glass carafe comes out of the metal stand, all parts are easy to keep clean. .My two complaints: 1. Metal parts leave a lot of fingerprints which can be annoying if you like it shiny and pretty. It's not really a design flaw as I like metal over plastic, but it can be annoying when it looks clean all the time.2. The metal at the top of the press can be rotated to either allow liquid to flow out of the spout or close it to keep the coffee warm. It's a nice touch and a good idea, but when it's closed bad coffee can still come out of the spout. It's not too annoying, but sometimes I forget to scroll and then wonder why the coffee flows so slowly. I wish it would close better or latch or something that would make it easier to tell if it's in the fill/non-fill position, but that just needs to be dealt with. That's no reason not to love this French Press, because I just love it, but still. In principle, this press is amazing, despite some trifles.
