They are small and soft. Since cats aren't very good at brushing their teeth, I would prefer a toothbrush that has bristles that reach both the top and bottom teeth at the same time. I've found that the back of the toothbrush hits opposing teeth when cats try to bite it. If bristles hit teeth, cleaning would be much quicker and less traumatic. But it certainly fits in both my 17lb and 7lb cat mouths. I want them to be different colors so I can easily tell which brush belongs to which cat. I marked them with magic markers, but the ink wears off quickly for some reason. Edited April 17th: I finally gave up brushing my cat's teeth. It was just such a horrible experience for all of us. At first they seemed to put up with it and even kind of got used to it, then they decided enough was enough for them and they started running and hiding when they saw me taking out the brushes. Instead, I now use Virbac CET Enzymatic Oral Hygiene Chews for Cats to help with their teeth. It seems to work well and the cats actually come when they hear the bag rustle.
