I know the mini engraving machine and I know a little bit about engraving. The laser engraver and cutter had intuitive setup and excellent instructions. I recommend referring to the video provided if you get stuck with the assembly. The implementation of the design was very easy for me. I'm surprised at how easy it was to get started. At the end of the book is a helpful guide to power versus speed ratios for different materials. I'm impressed by how beginner-friendly it is. Chances are you can figure out how to get things off the ground even if you have very little engraving experience. I recommend getting extra practice supplies, but there are a few types, as well as goggles. However, at first I found that I couldn't get a design to work on every material with all the settings I wanted. I entered the correct aspects and haven't been able to change them yet. I will continue to use it and update and use it over time. To update. I first figured out the settings but couldn't figure out how to size something exactly how I want it. I've also found that many laser ratios don't work with the suggested materials (I use light colored woods and have also tried kraft card stock.
