I've been using my office desktop at home for the last year and a half but I had to return it as we returned to campus mode this fall. My laptop has a screen size of 17 inches and an older i3 processor with 4 GB RAM and 500 fb HD. Although I added another screen, the processing power was not up to scratch compared to what I had with the office desktop setup I was using with dual screen. I was considering a newer laptop or mini pc but ended up buying a mini pc as i had a 24 inch screen which i could easily set up with the mini pc. This mini pc is lightweight and was easy to set up. Within an hour I was able to set up the screen and download the essential programs including MS Office, WinZip and Adobe. With 16 GB RAM and 512 SSD, the system is very fast with good computing power. The fan seems to be completely still. I will connect another screen to set up a dual screen. So far everything is working fine. I am planning to take this abroad with me when I go in December. I'll be in a dusty place with no air conditioning. I'm a little worried if this wouldn't be a problem as my colleague suggested that the fan might be having issues and the mini pc could get warm under the circumstances. I will update my review in a few months.
