I bought this because my Garmin lever broke. It works well and sticks to the windshield and the ball mount on the back is tight and perfect. Compared to the Garmin, the metal pin is much thinner and the arm is shorter by the full width of the sphere. It's okay if your car's window comes out of the hood at a steep, high angle. If your window is more tilted, you will not be able to tilt the GPS up towards you. You can only tilt it straight ahead, for example parallel to the road or down. The reason for this is that the oblique movement of the GPS is very limited due to the short arm. My GPS antenna folds back (Nuvi370) and when fully extended the tip of the antenna in the clip on the ball touches the windshield and there is no space between the antenna and the windshield. If the arm were longer, that wouldn't be a problem. For the price it's worth it. This limitation actually works well at night when the screen's glare (even when it's turned off) can't hit your eyes directly. It does the job, but it's not quite perfect. I would still recommend it.
