I bought these with the intention of using them as my golf cart light not knowing if they would work on a 12 volt system. It turns out they do! I cut down the power converter that plugs into the wall and strip the wires. The brackets can be cut and come with splicers so they can be rotated 90° when using them in your home. They are suitable for almost everything. A little bonus I've found is that they respond to the sound of music. It turned out to be a cool feature for my trip. There are different colors to choose from and you can adjust the light intensity. They look and act exactly how I expected them to, which is why they get a 5 star rating from me. Be sure to buy these!
