Filters must be fully inserted and not overflowing

I am very satisfied with the performance and results of this filter. I moved into a 20+ year old house with an original built-in fridge that works great, but there is no filter in the in-door water dispenser (GE added filter cartridges to their design a few years later). This filter solves my original problem (I need cold filtered water) with the added benefits of ionization and pH adjustment. My only "word of wisdom" is that you should make sure the filters are fully inserted into the filter. capital letters before use. As an engineer familiar with the plastic molding process and a hobby mechanic with very strong hands, I found it quite difficult to fully install the filters. The instructions are clear, but I don't think they go far enough to explain that you really need to push, pull, rotate, force, and otherwise fully deploy the filters. Just as I felt something about to break, he came closer. If your results don't look like a close-up of the top of the filter, there is no "gasket" between the filter and the housing. This is what engineers call an "interference fit," but it can be done by hand with patience and lubrication of the elbows. I also photographed what happens when you fill this system to the point where water remains at the top of the case. It's not made for that. It is designed to retain water only in the lower part of the body. The upper body should only hold water until it passes through the filters and fills the lower reservoir. If you overfill everything (as shown on purpose in one of the pictures), water will leak out between the upper and lower cases. Just stop filling the device when the bottom of the case is filled with filtered water and it doesn't leak.
