Sounds very good for the price. The tuning seems to be close to Harmon's goal, a very nice sounding tuning. There is plenty of brilliance in the high frequencies without harshness or noise. The bass is powerful and pleasant, but not clipped or clunky. But you can get it for $40 on many IEMs. Where they stand out is in the mid-range. Many cheaper headphones have a strong V-shape that emphasizes the highs and lows at the expense of the mids. This may sound good at first, but you'll end up missing out on a lot of the music, as most of the sound of the music (including vocals) is in the mids. However, this is not the case. There are mids and they sound great! So let's call the shot a "w" shape instead of a "v" shape. That's what you expect for this price. Aside from the fact that the 2 prong cables are detachable which is a great feature not usually found at this price point. They are light and comfortable on the ears. The cables are worn over the ears, which is preferable (once you get used to it) for safety and comfort reasons. Six pairs of earbuds were provided: two each (one black, one white), small, medium and large. This was not documentation of what the difference between the two different sets is. I chose white tips which seem to have a slightly larger opening. Typically a smaller diameter tip provides some bass emphasis, but I don't need that... there's enough bass here for me. Great seal. But that's normal for me... I must have monstrous big holes in my ears. However, I can get good pressure in some positions, like sitting, but not lying down. If you have never encountered this problem, it most likely does not affect you. Enjoy your regular pierced ears. Once you get a good seal you will find that the insulation provided is average. A lot of ambient noise is blocked out, but you can still hear someone trying to get your attention. All in all, it's a great sound for me. I wouldn't turn a blind eye to these things selling for $99. I have a collection of about 30 different IEMs ranging from cheap to outrageously expensive (e.g. $1200). And I wish such IEMs at this price would have been available 5 years ago. Back then, you could spend $150 on a pair of Shure SE315s and not get that nice sound. In fact, I would have chosen her over Shure in an instant. If you're new to IEM, this is a good place to start. The price is great, the sound is great, the build quality is great.
