This leash was bought to replace a strong leash which my dog chewed through unsupervised and I really don't think he would ever do it. chew this one. Before buying I read two reviews that the dog chewed on the black plastic plug caps but when used as a leash the dog can't even reach them. My only issue with this leash is the carabiner lock; too small. With an 850lb rating, it's reasonable to expect it to be used with large dogs. Large dog collars have heavy, thick D-rings. While it fits, it's so small (usable interior space is only about 1¼ inches) that it's difficult and awkward to attach to a collar. I solved the problem by buying a 3" carabiner to attach to the leash carabiner. It's ugly but functional and I only use it when the dog needs to be secured in a parked car with the back door open. For that reason I am giving an overall rating of four stars which is a shame as apart from the small latch this is a 5 star leash.
