*** Update 5 years. I still love it and use it every day! *** I have a few other iPad stands and while they are somewhat useful, this one is perfect! This allows 12 different height settings. You always have your iPad or similar device at the perfect viewing angle. The bottom is a soft cushion made of nice material. I haven't found anything I don't like about this product. And it's wide enough for my iPad in landscape (and portrait) modes, so I'm not sure what the complaint is about. This is almost the exact width of my iPad Air at its widest point (landscape). I'm absolutely thrilled that I found this. The rest will now gather dust. LOL Oh and. It has a well-sized edge to keep your device from slipping and rubber grip strips to keep your device secure. Also, the "vertically adjustable part" lies flat when not in use, so it doesn't have an awkward shape to store. What I do is .put it on a foam pad in your lap. . Works like a champ.
