I installed them under my son's loft bed. Pros: The remote control is actually pretty good compared to other alternatives on the market. The controls are clearly labeled and I didn't have to aim/point directly at the controller for it to work. The automatic modes are good, as are the music sensitivity programs (there are only 2 and you cannot adjust the brightness in this mode. Only 100%). The glue seems to be very good. It reminds me of the material used to make adhesive hooks that attach to removable walls. I installed directly onto bare plywood and it seems to be holding up well. Cons: 90 degree connectors are virtually useless. They consist of a flexible element at an angle of 90 degrees and two couplings. The 90 degree flex piece is slightly wider than the connectors so you can't insert them into the joint without bending it slightly. Also, the small metal fittings inside the choke are too tight against the plastic of the choke and you can't fit them underneath. So I had to bend the metal a bit to get them to fit. I have the same problem with the LED strip. The LEDs are slightly wider than the connector. Same solution EXCEPT that because it doesn't fit very well you bend the LED strip and it becomes almost impossible to glue them in there. When I finally got them connected, I turned on the light and found that one of the colors wasn't working. One of the pins clearly had bad contact. I kept checking my connections. Nothing will work. I ended up getting so fed up that I bought some elbow/90 degree connectors from another supplier. PERFECT. I was so happy to know that it wasn't just my mistake that made this setup so frustrating. Another thing to note is that you can't string all of these LEDs together in one long line. There are 3 sockets coming out of the controller and you need to plug each string of lights into its own socket. This way all three strings have to come from the same place and you can pull them in different directions. If you really decide to wire them all together (with those horrible connectors), the LEDs will start to dim heavily after about 25 feet. This (I've read) is due to voltage drop over long distances. The further the LED is from the power supply, the lower the voltage (and therefore light output). CONCLUSION: I would not recommend this kit to anyone unless they want to purchase additional third party connectors. The ones in it are almost useless. Also a big disappointment about distance/brightness, although I doubt this issue is specific to this brand/seller.
