Review on πŸ‘Ά Toddleroo by North States 42” Wide Supergate Ergo Baby Gate: Versatile Safety Solution for Doorways and Stairways by Rovy Oppeneer

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Outdoor use kills the locking mechanism but works fine indoors.

I've had three of these in the last few months. Two of the locking mechanisms had already come loose. I use them to keep my pets out of the house so I use a backyard gate. Unfortunately, the locking mechanism no longer closed tightly after just a few days. As soon as I think I have enough tension, my teeth slip. This happened to the second one I used after replacing the first one for just a few days. I suspect the sunlight must have had something to do with it ie the UV light weakened the plastic a bit but I didn't think it would happen so quickly. I live in the southern part of the San Francisco Bay Peninsula, so it's been a bit warm here lately, but not too hot. The amount of direct sunlight is not exposed until 16:00, so this device is not exposed to direct strong sunlight. Otherwise, it works well for indoor use. I have zero problems with him. I also have the classic version. In fact, the grip is an improvement over the classic. While Northern States Support says it's fine to use this outdoors as long as the temp doesn't drop below 40, I wouldn't try it unless it's sprayed with UV protection.

Pros
  • Door and stair gates
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly
