I LOVE this leather sharpening wheel. Pros:* I've been able to sharpen knives SHARPER than any other method (stones, diamond blocks, belt grinders, angle grinders).* It sharpens FASTER than any other method I've ever tried.* It sharpens even my toughest blades (e.g. knives out metal files). They're hard to sharpen, but that's not a problem. Cons: * I have a 6" grinder and the disc is the same size as the grinder body. See photo. Therefore you have to hold the blade offset to sharpen the side without changing the wheel to the other side of the grinder. See photo Suggestions: * I wish my 6" grinder had a 5/8" mandrel instead of 1/2" so I could buy an 8" model. Seller only provides 8" Get wheels with 5/8" rims. Buy an 8" grinder. thus the wheel has a larger diameter than the body of the grinder. Simply loosen the 4 screws at the bottom of the coffee grinder base and rotate it 180 degrees. see photo This is much safer and I think you can see better what angle you are holding the knife next to the wheel.
