This product is a nylon holster suitable for many types of smartphones. I bought it for my Moto G4 phone after I forgot my phone at the gym and went mad trying to figure out what happened to it. My phone fits perfectly in the holster, especially since my phone has a fairly thick protective rubber case. . Without a case, it can slip a bit in this holster. However, even in this situation, he would probably be safe in a holster as long as I kept his Velcro firmly closed. The holster can be attached to a belt or pants in a number of ways: 1. You can thread the belt through the loop on the back of the holster to position the holster on the side.2. You can attach the metal handle on the back of the holster to either your belt or the waistband of your pants if you are not wearing a belt. If you do this, wear your holster vertically. That's how I prefer it.3. This holster has a metal ring on the back to which you can attach a carabiner if you want to use it to attach the holster to the belt loop. However, this product does not come with a carabiner. You have to buy your own. At first I thought I would use a carabiner, but in the end I didn't. The holster appears to be well made. It is black in color and made of durable nylon. It has a small space for a pen if you want to take it with you. Other than that, there aren't any other pockets inside or space for anything other than the phone itself and possibly something very flimsy, like a driver's license, a credit card, or a few paper bills. There is no place for keys if you want to use this holster while running. I've only had this holster for a few months so can't comment on durability but otherwise I'd give it 5 stars.
