Review on MB Quart Reference Under Seat Subwoofer by Barbara Robinson

Don't expect much bass

I had high hopes for this product but was very disappointed. I bought a Rockville powered subwoofer for my Jeep Wrangler over a year ago and really didn't have as high hopes as I did with this MB Quart product. I have had MB Quart products in the past and have been very happy with them. After being blown away by the Rockville subwoofer I bought (a budget brand I'm unfamiliar with) I decided the MB Quart would be better. . The reverse is also true: the unknown Rockville subwoofer is much better than this quarter-strong MB subwoofer. I think something must be wrong. I professionally installed it in car toys and when I picked up my truck I didn't have time to learn how it works. On the way home I was disappointed but chalked it up to the settings or something. We immediately went on vacation and I took instructions with me to figure out how to set it up. I called Car Toys after playing with it and spoke to the guy who installed it and he said he had been working longer than usual to get it set up as he thought it was supposed to be putting out more bass than it really was. To be honest, my standard stereo has about as much bass as this one. There are a few songs where you can tell there's something added, but mostly I can't tell any difference turning the knob all the way down or all the way up. If you're looking for a subwoofer that doesn't take up much space, check out the Rockville Powered Subwoofer. I think I'll return it as I still have a 30 day window. I spent $180 to install it so I will lose it but I am not satisfied with this MB Quart product. Keep in mind that I know that a powered subwoofer like this has limitations in terms of bass output. I'm not expecting bass like a traditional subwoofer in a box with an amp, but the Rockville I had in my Jeep within 2 years. more bass than that.
