Review on 🚘 Reese Explore 1041100 Waterproof Car Top Carrier: 15 Cubic Feet of Extra Space by Demian Shah

We've looked at a lot of totes and seen similar complaints so we went with a reasonably priced tote expecting it to be disposable. It's spacious and easy to install. It rained a little during the night and nothing got wet. Based on the feedback, we have decided to pack everything that cannot get wet in plastic bags. The instructions specifically state that it is not waterproof. We haven't had heavy rain or we've ridden in the rain, so we can't comment on that. We've done 3,000 miles round trip and have been very happy with this carrier. We checked and tightened the straps every time we stopped, but it probably wasn't necessary. There was some street noise but we found it fine knowing it was still there, it wasn't loud enough to hear our music or speak. We haven't had any issues with it tearing or the zipper breaking. We bought a carpet. We didn't notice anything on the roof of our van. There are scuffs on the luggage rack where the straps were frayed. Our only criticism of the product is that it only opens on two sides, making packaging a bit difficult. Overall we are very satisfied with this carrier and can recommend it. It met our needs and we will use it again for another trip.
