Review on 🔧 Ultimate Rust Solution: CRC Rust Converter (1-Quart, 32fl Ounce) by Louis Mechtak

Product works as advertised. It quickly forms a heavy black coat over light rust that looks good on its own and holds the color well. However, it may be tempting to use it on grills, shop fixtures, trailers, etc. that are exposed to high temperatures during operation. or which will one day have to be repaired by welding or grinding. The coating contains chlorine-containing compounds that can release toxic phosgene gas when heated. This was confirmed by the CRC when I asked (btw the tech support for the product is excellent). I believe there should be a CLEAR WARNING against any use that may intentionally or unintentionally involve exposure to extreme heat. In my personal opinion anything made of steel will eventually need to be repaired by welding or grinding long after it has failed. my property (after all, I consider this product primarily for antique restoration). I don't want anyone to get hurt so I will use a different product even if it doesn't give the same good result.
