Review on Cuisinart DCC-1200 Brew Central 12 Cup Programmable Coffee Maker, Black and Silver by Krista Johnson

Bought this coffee machine for the second time. The first lasted about six months before the programmable feature stopped working, leaving us unable to wake up with a cup of coffee. Did it by hand every morning for 3-4 years. We recently decided that we wanted to bring this feature back. I bought this device in April 2017 and after a few weeks I noticed that there was a lot of coffee grounds in the coffee cup/pot. We noticed that the basket of soil looked like it had been ripped into pieces! Venues were everywhere! Even back to the water tank, to the filter, on top of the lid - everywhere! It should happen a few more times in the coming weeks. It felt like there had to be a large flow of pressurized water to make such a mess. I decided to start making coffee by hand to hear something unusual every morning. After three tries, on the fourth day I clearly heard the rushing water/gurgling during the brew and when the brew was finished I opened the lid to - of course - see the earth/water sloshing through it all! An absolute mess! There's no easy way to clean this up as the grounds keep falling back into the water tank and making your coffee look just awful. All of this, of course, takes place well after Revane's return date. Called Cuisinart just after 90 days and they wanted to be billed to ship a new unit, plus I had to pay for the old unit to be shipped back. While this may be an isolated incident, this experience, combined with our old coffee maker breaking within a few months, caused us to abandon Cuisinart products entirely. They've lost a customer for life and we won't give them our money again. Buyer Warning! There are better coffee makers on the market for a lot less money, probably with the company behind their product!
