Excellent but still smells after 6 months of use and washing

Have been using this bed for about 6 months. Very comfortable, baby sleeps well in it. However, it has quite a pungent odor on the baby's head. Since you don't have to wash the upholstery itself, I don't know how to get rid of the smell. Otherwise it's a great cosplay
