The positive is that it pulls moisture out of the room. negative note. It threw it on my carpet when the full auto bucket shutoff didn't work (yes it was set correctly). It also turned up the heat like it was a heater. Probably the temperature in the basement increased by 3-5 degrees. It looks like the hygrostat is also faulty as it went up a few percent while the dehumidifier was sucking out the moisture. FYI I bought this because the Black & Decker portable air conditioner we bought a few weeks ago worked fine. It turned out that two weeks later, the day before I turned on this dehumidifier, the air conditioner stopped working and was leaking all over my floor.
