Review on ๐Ÿšด Brooks Saddles Flyer Bicycle Saddle (Men's): Premium Comfort for Cyclists by Sean Carter

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Aha! Much better.

Let me back up my 5 star rating by saying the only thing I was looking for was comfort. I just turned 60 and I need to get my butt off and work out a bit so I'm not a young super athlete. I plan to ride some decent distances in San Francisco on my Fuji Traverse Sport Hybrid. The bike has great front suspension, but the stock saddle was just awful and I had a really hard time breaking my ass. I could probably improve things with a Brooks B17 (essentially a featherless flyer and vice versa), but I didn't care about the weight and really wanted something that would smooth out the bumps in city streets. The Flyer is designed for travel and trekking, which means this is the seat to go for when you're leaning forward to grab the handlebars. If you are on a truly upright cruiser or city cruiser you would choose the B67. The result exceeded all expectations. I was immediately able to focus more on technique, speed and navigation as my sit bones weren't bruised. Nothing but pure driving pleasure. This is the first time I've been so pleased with a purchase that I've bothered to leave a review. Yes, it really is that good.

Pros
  • An absolute legend
Cons
  • Questionable senior purchase
