Excellent saddle, comfortable straight away

The Brooks Flyer saddle is a fantastic product. This is my second Flyer saddle purchase in 3 years and I love it. My previous Flyer saddle was rusty because I live near the beach and it's exposed to salty air 24/7. I will definitely wash and oil my saddle regularly. Saddle rack to prevent future rust problems. Be sure to apply Brooks Leather Conditioner to both the top and bottom of the saddle before attaching it to the bike. I ride 30km a day and it takes about 2 weeks to fully break in the…

I have a very sensitive mascara

When it comes to bike seats I get really sore and the pain lasts for a week. When I took it out of the box, this seat felt rock solid, so I was very skeptical. It's heavy and made from very strong materials, but adds weight to the bike. Not a problem for me, but if you're trying to keep a lightweight bike this may not be for you. On my first ride after two hours, I noticed that it was wearing out. suspended from the rear seat frame and nose of the seat, allowing its thick leather to conform to…

Aha! Much better.

Let me back up my 5 star rating by saying the only thing I was looking for was comfort. I just turned 60 and I need to get my butt off and work out a bit so I'm not a young super athlete. I plan to ride some decent distances in San Francisco on my Fuji Traverse Sport Hybrid. The bike has great front suspension, but the stock saddle was just awful and I had a really hard time breaking my ass. I could probably improve things with a Brooks B17 (essentially a featherless flyer and vice versa), but…

Find! fits saddles

Like many who read reviews, I'm sure I've heard Brooks saddles are legendary but expensive. First, let me say that I broke my tailbone during college, which caused me very severe tailbone pain from sitting for too long or on a hard surface. Going to a sporting event, especially in the stands, is a nightmare! However, I was always afraid of cycling for too long because of the pain I usually have afterwards. When I moved to the city, I started riding my bike more often and my hunt for a saddle…

The best saddle I've ever ridden!

This is the most comfortable saddle I have ever sat on. For me, the Flyer was relatively comfortable right out of the box and significantly better than the standard saddle. Before putting it on my bike I exposed it to the sun to warm it up a bit and then covered it well with Proofhide. When it was well absorbed I covered the saddle with a kitchen towel and lightly pounded it with a French rolling pin. Then I put it back in the sun to heat it up a bit more and added a second coat of Proofhide…

Over two years and 3,000 miles later.

This saddle was excellent! With over 3,000 miles on the road commuting and commuting, Brooks is still as comfortable as ever! It's been through all four seasons and has been in the rain a few times but the light application of the protective coating I bought with the saddle over two years ago helps keep it looking good! On first use, the saddle felt like solid steel. The leather was very hard (sounded like tapping on hard plastic). After a few miles of riding I felt it, especially in my sit…
